life after sales

Want more choice over where and how you work?

Take control and navigate your own career maze.

I’m the coach for sales people who want to leave sales.

Are you someone who fell into sales?

Do you feel the pressure of only being as good as your last quarter?

These are my client’s frustrations:
  • Be authentic, but tow the party line
  • Give clients value, but close the deal this quarter
  • Accurately manage your pipeline, but still hit your (unrealistic) target
Sound familiar?

My Coaching Services

Coaching is a powerful resource built around the premise that people can develop and that the best ways to grow lie within you. A coach provides the structure, framework and deep questioning that allows those growth opportunities to surface in the ways that make sense for you.

Structured

Are you at a complete loss as to what you might do instead of your current job?

Do you prefer a structured way of working?

Would you like to benefit from a programme with 20+ years of delivering career change to individuals?

If the answer is yes to any of these then my 12-session Firework Career Change programme is for you.

Agile

Do you have an idea (however small) of what you want to do but are stuck in terms of how to get there?

Do you enjoy some flexibility or ownership in how you tackle problems and projects?

Then my agile coaching approach may be best for you.

Group

Are you ready for a career change but not sure you can make the investment of 1:1?

Or do you get energy and inspiration from seeing how others tackle similar challenges to you?

If this sounds like you then you can take advantage of my ‘one to many’ Group coaching approach.

Laura PARker

Laura As A Coach

With me as your guide, cheerleader, accountability buddy and non-judgmental thought partner you achieve more.

Go deep on what truly motivates you at work.

Aligning your work to your authentic self is what gives you the magic of flow making work both easy and fulfilling.

Uncover and learn how to articulate your unique value proposition.

Even as a sales person, often selling yourself is the hardest thing to do.

Surface your transferable skills and learn how they apply in new environments.

These can be hard to surface on your own as they are “just what I do every day”, or they come naturally without thinking.

Get creative about what your career options really are.

Let’s get creative and together generate a number of possible new career choices without being constrained at this stage by traditional notions of what’s possible.

Build a bridge to create your new reality.

Let’s turn your dream and vision into a concrete plan, prioritising real-world actions that build momentum and confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you write CVs?

CV writing is part of my offering but we need to understand what doors we want the CV to open first.

So first of all we will get you absolute clarity and confidence on the direction and then we can create the CV that will work for you.

This is the same for LinkedIn profiles [refer to question below on difference between a career coach and careers advisor].

Do you offer discounts?

I don’t offer discounts as I’m fully confident in the value I bring my clients.

However I absolutely do support my clients with payment plans to make sure you can access the support that’s right for you.

What does a career coach do?

A career coach is a mix between a guide, a cheerleader, and sometimes a gentle reality-checker.

They’ll help you figure out your goals, identify what’s getting in your way, polish up your CV/LinkedIn/interview skills once you know the path you want to take, and boost your confidence.

What is the difference between a mentor, therapist, coach and careers advisor?
These words are often used interchangeably but they are different. They all have a place but it’s worth you being clear on the differences.

  • A mentor is typically someone in the same field who is more senior than you and can give you specific guidance in how to navigate your career direction. A mentee will ask questions, a mentor will give answers.
  • A (career) coach does not need to be in the same industry or have the same background. Their role is to help the coachee uncover the way forward for themselves. A coach will ask lots of questions, the coachee will uncover the answers.

  • If you know the career direction you want then a careers advisor is a good resource. They will provide the tactical CV and interview and recruitment techniques you need to land your next job. They will do less work on your motivators, drivers and energisers that a coach will focus on.

  • Put simply a therapist will work on why things have happened in the past, taking a more retrospective view. As a coach I’m more forward-looking, focusing on your future direction and goals.
Do I really need a career coach, or can I figure this out on my own?
Totally fair question! You can absolutely do some of this on your own with books, online resources, and a lot of self-reflection.

A coach just helps speed things up, give you clarity when you’re feeling stuck, and hold you accountable so you don’t go in circles.

Think of it like having a workout buddy who also happens to know exactly which exercises will get you where you want to go.

How do I know if coaching is worth the money?

Great question because coaching is an investment. The easiest way to think about it: what would it mean to you if you landed a job outside of sales that you actually enjoy (or finally got that promotion, or felt confident about your direction)?

For a lot of people, the cost of coaching ends up paying for itself in the form of higher salary, new opportunities, or simply not dreading Mondays anymore.

What if I'm not in sales, can you still help?

Absolutely. My programmes will work for any profession. Because you are in the driver’s seat I don’t need to have the specific industry sector that you have.

How long does coaching take before I see results?

This depends on your goals, but most of my clients notice shifts within the first few sessions — even if it’s just clarity about what they want.

The joy of coaching is that the process keeps working in between sessions as you unlock new ways of thinking.

If you’re working on something big (like a complete career change), it can take a few months. Think of it as a process, not a quick fix, but one that builds momentum fast once you start.

What should I expect in the first session?
Our first session is a mix of “getting to know you” and goal-setting. You’ll talk about your background, what’s been challenging, and what you’d like to get out of coaching.

Don’t worry about saying the “perfect” thing — just be honest about where you’re at. From there, I’ll outline how you can work together to make real progress.
Does virtual coaching really work?

Absolutely. Many of my clients enjoy the flexibility of being able to have coaching sessions outdoors or on holiday whilst their diary is not slammed with work commitments. These are great opportunities for opening up creative thinking.

However I do coach some clients in person because they live near me, either near High Wycombe or Beaconsfield. And if you’re further away we can discuss that too. But the good news is that location doesn’t stop you getting the outcomes that you want.
